Queen Latifah let the world know how proud she was of her partner, Eboni Nichols.
Taking to Instagram, Latifah expressed her immense pride for Nichols work as a producer of the 69th annual Grammy Awards.
”Eboni Nichols. I couldn’t be more proud of you for being a Producer on this year’s Grammy Awards,” Latifah’s caption read. “I’m watching your dreams come true, baby!”
”Major shout-out to @mrbenwinston, @rajmkapoor, and @jessecollinsent,” she continued. “You all are elevating the biggest night in music to a whole new level!”
According to Hello Magazine, Latifah and Nichols first met in 2009 on the set of Dancing with the Stars. Nichols was working as a professional choreographer, and Latifah was making an appearance to perform.
While their paths had technically crossed two years earlier during the filming of the 2007 movie Hairspray—in which Latifah starred as Motormouth Maybelle and Nichols was a featured dancer—it was their 2009 encounter that sparked a lasting connection.
Reportedly, the couple began dating in 2013 and has maintained a deeply private relationship for nearly a decade. In 2019, they welcomed their son, Rebel. During her 2021 BET Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech, Latifah famously confirmed their relationship.
”Eboni, my love. Rebel, my love,” Latifah said. “Peace. Happy Pride!”
Speaking with PEOPLE, Latifah spoke about starting a family.
“I’ve always envisioned myself with a big family. I’m a late bloomer,” Queen Latifah explained.
“I’m a late bloomer with a lot of things, and you know – nobody’s perfect…I think I kind of needed to grow and mature and get everything kind of taken care of with everything before I was able to really deal with it.”
An acclaimed dancer, Nichols has performed with Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Usher, and Rihanna. She’s also choreographed for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Estelle, and The Dream.
