Wale is not one for the online shenanigans. So when a troll took a shot at him in a recent X post, he offered quite the clapback. “A female told me I rap like Wale and I got so f*cking offended cuz no the fuck I don’t,” an X user named NFTMansa wrote on March 10. The Maryland native responded less than 10 minutes later, writing, “Nobody believes a female talked to u today, gang.” The rapper’s comment section seemed quite amused by the brief back-and-forth.
“All I ever known was beautiful women listening to Wale,” one person commented. “That mf gets no cat. He told on himself.” Another X User wrote, ” ‘a female’ – first and only indication of a n*gga having no b*tches 😭.” That said, not all the comments were on his side. One X user implied that Wale only responded to gain attention. “Ik a n*gga tryna trick us into listening to that bullsh*t when I see it.. shouldn’t even have gave him the reply. 💀 n*gga over there excited this happened,” they wrote.
Wale Speaks On His Relationship With Social Media And Battling Trolls
Last November, during an interview with the Effective Immediately podcast, Wale opened up about his relationship with social media and his interactions with online trolls. The rapper made it clear he’s quick to block his haters to preserve peace of mind. “..They used to be like, ‘Yo, look y’all. He blocked me. I don’t know why this person blocked me.’ I’m like, ‘Because you’re annoying. I see your timeline, I could tell,’” he said.
Later in the discussion, the rapper recalls the first time a troll crossed the line online and explains why he decided to block them. “The first time I started blocking [was] because I’m trying to push my algorithm. I know that I got to do double work to get into the algorithms,” Wale explains. “I got to promote my shit, I got to spam my shit, n***as discovering every day. Somebody pop on be like, ‘Failure,’ and I’ll be like, ‘How?’ and then they be like, ‘Oh my God, you responded to me, you’re a loser.’ And then I’ll be like, ‘Okay, block. Forget it, forget it.’”
