South Carolina rapper Trap Dickey, known for hit songs “Down South” and “287,” has officially joined the roster at Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), a move that signals major momentum for the fast-rising Southern artist.

The signing arrives during a breakout stretch for Trap Dickey, whose buzz has grown through steady streaming numbers and expanding urban radio play. The new collaboration with Key Glock has drawn tremendous traction on the radio and on streaming platforms.

With the deal, Trap Dickey becomes the first artist from South Carolina to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment, the influential label founded by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. The company has built a reputation as one of hip-hop’s most respected creative hubs, known for cultivating distinctive artists and shaping modern rap and R&B.

The label’s roster includes major names such as SZA, Doechii, Isaiah Rashad and ScHoolboy Q. Each artist helped strengthen TDE’s reputation for championing originality and lyrical depth.

Tiffith said Trap Dickey’s authenticity played a decisive role in the signing.

“Trap Dickey has a real story that comes straight from his life,” Tiffith said. “That kind of authenticity is exactly what we look for at TDE. We’re excited to welcome him to our roster.”

For Trap Dickey, the opportunity carries both excitement and high expectations. The rapper compared joining TDE to landing on one of basketball’s elite teams.

“Being signed to TDE feels like joining the Golden State Warriors or the Lakers,” he said, referencing powerhouse franchises in the National Basketball Association. “I’m looking forward to a winning season with TDE.”

The partnership places Trap Dickey inside one of hip-hop’s most influential camps. With new music expected soon, industry watchers believe the South Carolina rapper could become the label’s next breakout voice.
