Draya Michele Says It’s ‘Never Too Late’ As She Makes Huge Career Pivot

Draya Michele, the entrepreneur and former “Basketball Wives” is trading reality television cameras for industrial kitchens as she embarks on a new professional chapter in the culinary arts.

The lifestyle influencer revealed to her millions of social media followers Wednesday that she has been quietly enrolled in culinary school for several months. In a series of videos shared on Instagram, Michele showcased her technical progress, including footage of her working on a professional line, prepping fresh ingredients and mastering advanced techniques such as flambé.

“Becoming a chef was never something on my mood board (until lately),” Michele wrote in her announcement. “I’ve enjoyed cooking for my loved ones for years, and now I’m just perfecting it.”

Michele described this period of her life as her “Culinaire” era, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and professional transformation. The Mint Swim founder encouraged her audience to pursue their own interests regardless of their established public identity or past career paths.

“You’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to pivot.” Her message continued, “you’re allowed to discover new passions you never saw coming. It’s never too late to change your path or start something new. If you’ve been waiting for a sign… this is it.”
