Slim Thug has officially withdrawn his long-standing interest in fellow Texas native Megan Thee Stallion, citing the public fallout of her recent breakup with NBA star Klay Thompson as a primary deterrent.
Thug took to social media earlier this week to explain why he no longer views a relationship with the “Hiss” rapper as a viable option. The commentary follows a turbulent weekend for Megan Thee Stallion, who confirmed her split from the Klay Thompson.
Megan alleged infidelity on Thompson’s part, sharing a series of emotional posts on her Instagram Story that detailed her frustrations with the relationship. She emphasized that she had supported the athlete through difficult periods only for the bond to break over issues of monogamy and respect.
“I hate to see that,” Slim Thug said in a video clip shared by The Shade Room. Despite being vocal about having a crush on the rapper, he suggested that the public scrutiny following such a split is exactly what he hopes to avoid.
“I’m not ever rooting for that, but that’s why I can’t be in that situation,” Slim Thug said. “If you get into a situation like that, look what happens when it don’t work out. How many times have I told y’all that? How many times have I come on here and said, ‘Nah, I don’t want that.’”
Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion has maintained a firm stance on her standards for future partners. In a statement provided to TMZ, she reiterated that “trust, fidelity and respect” are mandatory requirements for any romantic pursuit. The rapper indicated she is taking a significant break from dating following the allegations that Thompson was unfaithful while she was closely integrated with his family life.
