Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’s forthcoming release from FIC Fort Dix federal prison has been moved up again to January 21, 2028, according to Bureau of Prisons records.
Diddy was convicted in federal court on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in 2025. He is currently serving a 50-month sentence in New Jersey. The hip-hop mogul’s release date has changed multiple times throughout his incarceration.
A Manhattan federal jury acquitted Combs of sex trafficking and racketeering charges following his closely watched trial. He has denied wrongdoing and appealed his prostitution-related convictions.
Prosecutors accused Combs of coercing women into participating in sexual encounters prosecutors described as “freak-offs.” Combs has consistently denied the allegations.
His projected release date has shifted several times since he entered federal custody. His original release date was reportedly set for June 2028.

The date was moved up again last month. That change reportedly came after Combs was involved in a prison altercation.

Combs also faces multiple civil lawsuits involving allegations of sexual misconduct. He has denied the claims.
His criminal case began after federal prosecutors charged him in 2024. The ensuing trial featured testimony from several witnesses and lasted multiple weeks.
Jurors ultimately acquitted Combs of the case’s most serious charges. They convicted him on two prostitution-related counts.
Combs began serving his sentence after his October 2025 sentencing. His attorneys continue to challenge the convictions on appeal. At FCI Fort Dix, Diddy has undergone drug rehabilitation.
