While the world should be coming together is Donald Trump creating rhetoric that can potentially tear it apart?
Donald Trump has been calling COVID-19 the “Chinese virus.” He’s said the term publicly and written it in his Tweets.
I will be having a news conference today to discuss very important news from the FDA concerning the Chinese Virus!

Many people online criticized Trump for how he referred to the virus. During a press conference today (March 18) he was asked why he uses the term and explained. His response was,
“Cause it comes from China. It’s not racist at all. Not at all. It comes from China. That’s why. I wanna be accurate.”
Take a look:
Some online users were not feeling Trump’s “nickname” for the coronavirus.
Dear Americans,
Please condemn in the harshest terms the occupant of the White House calling this a "Chinese virus."
At a time when we should be coming together, Trump is still trying to tear us apart.

Please stop calling it “Chinese Virus”. Through no fault of their own, the Chinese people have suffered immeasurably. You are stigmatizing all Chinese people everywhere including our own Chinese-Americans.
