The NBA is taking precautions due to the coronavirus.
Complex reports that the organization has notified the teams that there can be a possibility of playing games in empty arenas. This is one measure being used to combat the spread of the deadly virus.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania sent tweets out on the matter.
Sources: The NBA has sent a memo to its franchises explaining that, due to coronavirus outbreak, teams should be preparing to play games without fans in attendance and identifying “essential staff” present for these games — should it be necessary.

Just a few days before the NBA released a memo that included recommendations on how to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. Some of these tips included washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, giving fist- bumps instead of handshakes or high-fives, having hand sanitizer and more.
