Marvel’s Black Panther is receiving rave reviews and though the premise of the movie is about T’Challa’s reign as Black Panther, it’s the strong, resilient women of the Dora Milaje who are standouts!
Dora Milaje pledges their lives to the throne and the ruler of Wakanda.
They can kick anyone’s ass when necessary and when going into battle, they move together like water, in a sense that they move as a unit, fluidly and cohesively.
Lupita Nyongo who plays Nakia challenges those traditions and wants to implement a new way of living.
Their leader, or “general” Okoye, played by Danai Gurira is a traditional warrior who follows the customs of Wakanda.
