Is it really The Roc?
Earlier this month, Lil’ Wayne set the internet on fire when he announced that he had officially signed with Jay Z and Roc Nation.
“Is it cool if I just say it? It’s the Roc. You know I’m a member of that team now. We’ll talk about that later though.”
That left us with tons of different questions. Is he off of Cash Money Records? What kind of deal did Jay Z sign him to? Are we finally going to hear Tha Carter V?
It’s been radio silence ever since the announcement, but he sat down with Skip Bayless of all people to give some clarity to the situation.
“Yeah, Jay is just a good guy man,” he said. “He’s a good guy. It was nothing but a simple thing, just friend-to-friend, ‘I just want to help you.’ That’s all it was. ‘I just want to help you man. In any way I can.’ And right now he’s just going to help me in any way he can, and that’s just what it is. [Have I left Cash Money yet?] No, we haven’t done that yet. We’re still working on that situation. But like I said, Jay’s just a good guy and he wants to help me. He’s going to help me.”
Whatever that means. If Hova can help smooth the situation between him and Birdman, and help us finally hear Tha Carter V then it’s safe to say we’ll all be happy.
