Hip hop and r&b was going strong in 2005. The southern movement in hip hop was in full swing, and one artist returned with a vengence.

Mariah Carey dominated much of the year with her hit single “We Belong Together.” Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and The Game & 50 Cent’s “How We Do” were other big hits during that time.

Destiny’s Child needed a “Soldier” so that they can “Cater 2 U.” Meanwhile Ciara had everyone shocked with her video for “Oh.”

Those were all big hits that year. But what about the tracks that weren’t quite smashes. We’re going to take you back. Back to the year 2005 with some songs that you may have forgotton, but still have a special place in your heart for.
