Before she touches that Hot For The Holidays stage, get to know The BonFyre a little bit better with these facts listed below.

Before bursting onto the music scene in 2018, The BonFyre was simply known as Chelsey LaRue, from Chicopee, Massachusetts.

LaRue credits her step-father and his Polynesian culture for having a heavy music presence in her life when she was growing up. “Polynesian culture is very music-oriented. You do dances and sing at every function, whether it’s a wedding or wherever you go. You’re just always singing and dancing and I grew up around that as a little girl”, as reported by Music Connection

The BonFyre got her name after describing what she wants her music to sound like when fans listen to it. “People would always ask me what I wanted my music to sound like, I would always describe it to them as a bonfire because when you think about that feeling, it’s always a good time. It’s always good vibes, and it’s warm and inviting. Anybody is welcome, and I wanted my music to resonate that way to people”.

She was discovered by a club owner in Harlem after she put up a few videos of her singing 80s and 90s covers on YouTube. She would later catch the attention of producers Yancey Richardson and Raphael Saadiq. She would later work with Saadiq over the next four years.

The BonFyre is now signed to L.A. Reid’s company Hitco and currently has her EP Ready To Love out on all platforms. Her single Automatic climbed to the number 28th slot on Billboard Adult R&B Charts.
