Standing at a modelesque 6’2, the new R&B songstress to hit the music scene is full-bodied vocalist, Nicole Bus.
Like so many artists, the Netherlands born singer started performing in church where she sang, played the keyboard, and wrote music.
Nicole catapulted into the spotlight when she made it to the quarter-finals on The Voice of Holland. Appearing on the show forever changed her life because she met famed record producer, Needlz and soon after signed with Roc Nation, in 2018.
Currently, her first single “You,” which samples “C.R.E.A.M.” by Wu-Tang Clan and The Charmels’s “As Long as I’ve Got You,” is climbing the Billboard Hot 100, coming in at No. 17 on R&B Songs chart. Nicole says the song is a love letter to black men.
“In the media, the profile of black males is pretty negative,” says Nicole. “In the heavy times we’re going through right now, we don’t have an encouraging song about the beauty, strength, and intelligence of our black men. I decided to write one. I thought it would be cool to turn it around making a love story about this subject. The ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ sample felt so perfect. It’s a very beautiful dedication to boost character and morale and share love instead of all this negativity.”
