From viral sensation to a force to be reckoned with – Saucy Santana is has his foot on everyones neck.
Santana has proved time and time again that he’s more than just a TikTok artist. The rapper has made a name for himself, by simply being himself – plus having BARS of course.
The rapper first appeared on the scene when hanging with The City Girls. Hailing from Bridgeport, Connecticut Santana moved to Florida at the age of 15 which shaped him to the artist he is now. With hits like Walk, Material Girl, and Shisha, a lot of people are drawn to Saucy’s unique sound. “I have fun on the record and whatever happens happens,” he tells Forbes of his recording process. “I love that about me — that it’s so authentic and it’s so pure. I’m not in the studio thinking, ‘I need to make a TikTok hit’; I’m not necessarily thinking, ‘I need to make this go viral.’ I’m just making good music.”
At just the start of his career, Saucy has been embraced by artist such as Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, and Yung Miami and JT of the City Girls. He’s been friends with the Miami rap duo for many years, and even worked as their make up artist for a short period of time.
The group recent jumped on Santana’s viral hit song “Shisha.” He explains, “I did [‘Shisha’] and me and Yung Miami were together that night, actually; we both recorded at the same studio, but we had two separate sessions,” he reveals. “So when I was finished with my song I was like, ‘Caresha should come listen to the song. I love this song.’ And she came and she was like, ‘Oh, this is a hit. I want to get on it.’” Eventually JT joined the party, and the catchy trap track was born. “We all collabed mostly for the culture; I feel like ever since I’ve been rapping, everybody’s been waiting on a City Girls song, and now y’all have it.”
A newly pivotal moment in his growing career is that the artist just announced he’s been signed to the legendary RCA records.
