Every generation has a different story on how they fell in love with Hip Hop.

Jim Jones sits down with us this week and discusses the influence of Slick Rick, Rakim, KRS-One, the first shows he remembers seeing live at the Apollo, his favorite track of all time, and even hearing his song on the radio for the first time.

The Harlem artist is known for being part of the legendary Diplomats crew. He eventually released his first solo track 2004 with “Certified Gangstas.”

He has released 7 solo studio albums to date, as well as countless mixtapes, EP’s and projects alongside Dipset.

Jim Jones is still going strong as many would say he is in the prime of his career, and recently released a Freestyle dissin’ Pusha T in a freestyle after the Virginia rapper mentioned him in a recent Clipse track played at Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 show in Paris last week.

Celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop, “My First” details your favorite celebrities’ relationship with the biggest culture in the world. The conversation will revolve around questions such as the first time they fell in love with Hip Hop, first song they heard on the radio, one of their biggest experiences with the culture, and more!
