The numbers of these questionable hangings continue to grow and it’s very sad.

Reports state that the body of  20-year-old Amani Kildea was found hanging from a tree in a Lewis Morris Park on Sunday, June 28th in Morristown, New Jersey. His death has his community raising questions.

Kildea’s father, Tom Kildea remembered his son in an online tribute. “Everyone who met him, who knew him, young and old, admired him and loved him. He doubted that, but we knew it to be true.”

Fredric Knapp, of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement about Kildea’s death.

“There is no cause to believe there is any criminality involved. The Morris County Medical Examiner has determined the manner of death as a suicide.”

Many people believe that his death was a “racially charged lynching”, according to a petition on Change.org.

Kildea’s name joins the list of a number of other hangings that took place in New York, California, and Houston within the last two months.

He recently graduated as a Military Policeman in the Army Reserves with dreams of becoming an FBI or CIA agent. He was also set to go to James Madison University in the fall.

Our thoughts and prayers are will his family, friends, and loved ones.
