It’s no secret that Master P is one of the most successful people in the music industry, but his success didn’t come easy.

Master P, whose real name is Percy Robert Miller, has often spoken about his hardships as a child growing up in the Calliope housing projects in New Orleans, Louisana, but he didn’t let it stop him from becoming successful in the future.

After inheriting a $10,000 life insurance settlement check, Miller went on to open a record store where he would launch “No Limit Records and Tapes” at the age of 21. The store was located in Richmond, California on San Pablo Avenue and it only sold gangster rap albums from West Coast rappers such as Too Short, Tupac, E-40, and more. It wasn’t long after where he began selling his own self produced album Get Away Clean.

Miller’s success just kept coming. In 1998, Miller reached huge success with his album MP Da Last Don, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The album sold over four million copies. This success led to him signing Snoop Dogg to his label, who’s album also debuted at number 1 and reached over 800,000 copies.

Throughout the years, Master P would go on to have many business ventures including a sports management company, a video game company, a film studio, a clothing line, a real estate firm, and many more.

Today, Master P’s net worth is $250 Million, making him one of the most highest-paid rappers to date.

Happy Birthday to Master P!.
