Rapper Waka Flocka visits NYC during New York fashion week to celebrate his new partnership with popular Canadian luxury streetwear brand “SKRIT”. A dinner was held at Tao downtown restaurant with a few notable industry heavyweights including CEO and founder of Fashion Bomb Daily- Claire Sulmers, CEO of All Hip Hop – Chuck Kreemur, editor in Chief of Vibe magazine Datwon Thomas, Brooklyn rappers Maino and Ether Da Connect, and much more!
The partnership between Waka Flocka and SKRIT came about during a visit to Montreal which was initially intended to handle his NFT cryptocurrency affairs. While in Montreal, Waka was introduced to Skirts showroom and the rapper instantly took interest of the luxury streetwear brand and eventually become an investor and partner.
SKRIT was founded in 2019 and is currently being introduced to the U.S market with the help of Waka Flocka and Nilson Martinez.
Peter Paul, mostly known for his work as Head of Marketing for Chris Brown’s Black Pyramid and Senior marketing of Tommy Hilfiger was also in attendance Wednseday evening for Waka x Skirt’s U.S launch. Paul currently serves as SKRIT’s U.S. branding manager alongside Deneen Scott who is mostly known for her work with Rocawear ladies.
Both Deneen Scott and Peter Paul have also partnered with Lala’s, Lala Anthony Collection, and they are currently partners of the John Collins x Baptist Collection.
Before the night ended, rapper Waka Flocka made a toast to his new partnership with SKRIT affirming that their mission is “Bringing street back to high fashion”.
