All NYC Public Schools Will Temporarily Close In-Person Learning

Covid-19 update!

According to sources, all New York City public schools will temporarily close in-person learning starting tomorrow (11/19). This is due to the spike in coronavirus cases.

Governor Andrew Cuomo warned earlier in the week that NYC is on the verge of entering the “orange zone” of COVID restriction because of the increase in the number of people with the virus. Mayor Bill de Blasio also warned that all city schools would close if the positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average reached the threshold of three percent, Fox 5 reports.

During Cuomo’s briefing, he spoke on the different areas of the state with high numbers and how it will affect people who live there. Regions with Orange shaded areas have lesser restrictions and yellow shaded areas indicate restrictions could be forthcoming, the article reports.

As NYC public schools are temporarily closing, it’s possible there could be new restrictions on churches, mass gatherings, restaurants, etc.
