It’s safe to say that Timbaland and Swizz Beatz have been holding us all down, while we’re quarantining amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As millions of people have tuned in, the Verzuz battles have been legendary, bringing some of our favorite producers, artists and entertainers together. We’ve seen battles from the likes of Neyo, The Dream, Babyface, Teddy Riley, T Pain, Lil Jon, and more.
While we’re all awaiting Erykah Badu and Jill Scott’s battle coming this Saturday, we may have to prepare for another one too.
During a recent interview, John Legend spoke on doing a Verzuz battle with Alicia Keys- wife to Swizz Beatz.
When asked about the possibility of a battle, he replied, “I think we will.” He continued, “What I do like with the way it’s been going so far is we’re seeing producers and writers, more than just artists. The producers and writers, what’s so cool about it is, maybe you didn’t know that they produced this song. For me and Alicia, you know it’s our songs ’cause we are the front person for them. We were on the radio singing them, but for all of these producers like Teddy [Riley], Babyface, and all these other producers, ‘Oh, I didn’t know they were behind that song.”‘
