Ashanti has the internet buzzing!
The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and actress posted a few photos online that are going viral. The flicks are from her recent performance at the Lovers and Friends Festival in Las Vegas last weekend. In one of the captions, the “Happy” singer wrote, “ready.” On the other, she said “showtime,” referring to the concert. Take a look at the photos:
The throwback hip-hop and R&B festival has been postponed for the past two years. The two-day Live Nation event was held at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds this year. The headliners included Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Monica, TLC, and Mario. Other performers in attendance were Ashanti, Ja Rule, Lil Kim, Nina Sky, Ying Yang Twins, 112, SWV, TLC, Mase, Tweet, Ciara, Nelly, and more. Okay Player points out Foxy Brown or Brandy didn’t show up.

Overall, Ashanti had an exciting April 2022. The princess of hip hop and R&B was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the time, Ashanti told Billboard it was “surreal.” She said, “I’m shocked, stunned, and over the top grateful. This is a staple in my career, and the fact that it will be here forever is a big deal.” She continued,“I’m not a super emotional person, so the fact that I cried a little bit today is a little weird for me. I’m so humbled and overjoyed to have friends, family, and genuine people here supporting me that I love.”
Ashanti also celebrated the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album in a major way. She shared news about her first NFT collection. In addition, she released a children’s book called My Name Is My Story. A few months ago, Ashanti was at a Los Angeles recording studio as far as new music. We see a pen and paper in the photo, but it’s not clear what she has in store. In the caption, she put the eye emoji. We’ll keep you updated!
