Sending love and light to living legend Beenie Man.
According to reports, Beenie Man was at his mother’s funeral in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica over the weekend. During the service, the dancehall icon had to be rushed to the hospital after he collapsed. He was reportedly overwhelmed with emotion and four men helped to get him assistance.
Beenie Man’s mother, Lilieth Sewell, suffered from a stroke in July. She was discharged a few months later and passed away in September.
In honor of his mother’s death, Beenie Man is building a [community] center in his hometown of Waterhouse. The center will also be for his late grandfather and will be named after both of them.
We wish Beenie a speedy recovery and have his family in our thoughts.
