Beyonce is not happy with Tiffany & Co, after unknowingly wearing a blood diamond for their ad.

Earlier this week, Beyonce and Jay-Z posed for the famous jewelry company for their “ABOUT LOVE” campaign.

In the photos, Beyonce can be seen wearing the iconic 128.54 carat Tiffany Yellow Diamond which was discovered in 1877 in South Africa.

Social media quickly called the Grammy-Award-winning singer out for wearing the controversial diamond.

The history of the diamond was found when South Africa was still under British rule, where Black miners worked in bad conditions with very little pay. When the diamonds were discovered, they would be considered a “blood diamond”.

Beyonce’s reps addressed the criticism that she had been receiving.

“Beyonce is aware of the criticism and is disappointed and angry that she wasn’t made aware of the questions about its history. She thought that every final detail had been vetted, but now she realizes that the diamond itself was overlooked.”
