BREAKING: All NBA Playoff Games Postponed After Players Boycott Over Jacob Blake Shooting

NBA players are taking a HUGE stance on Black Lives Matter issues.

According to reports, The Milwaukee Bucks are boycotting today’s (August 26) playoff game against the Orlando Magic. The boycott is in response to the police shooting of a black 29-year-old, Jacob Blake. 

Bucks guard George Hill said, “We’re tired of the killings and the injustice.”

ESPN reports The Bucks didn’t show up on the court for start time while the Magic were taking pregame shots on the court. However, they left the court right before the game start time at 3:56 p.m. (game was scheduled to start at 4 p.m.). Then the referees left the court. 

Earlier today we reported the Toronto Raptors and Celtics players are thinking about boycotting tomorrow’s game. They didn’t decide as of yet, but they may follow in the footsteps of the Bucks.

UPDATE:

According to CNN, all NBA playoff games have been postponed as players across the league decided to boycott in protest.

 

The NBA has officially released a statement following the decision to postpone call games after the Milwaukee Bucks boycotted today’s game.

Senior Vice President of the Milwaukee Bucks Alex Lasry also released a statement on the decision to boycott today’s game.

“Some things are bigger than basketball,” he wrote. “The stand taken today by the players and org shows that we’re fed up. Enough is enough. Change needs to happen. I’m incredibly proud of our guys and we stand 100% behind our players ready to assist and bring about real change.”
