Chris Brown is raising awareness surrounding the US border in Texas.
Footage has surfaced of the US Patrol Agents forcefully confronting and removing Haitian immigrants.
The El Paso Times shows a US border patrol agent on horseback whipping a young Haitian man, in an attempt to stop the migrant from entering an encampment on Rio Grande in Del Rio, Texas.
During a briefing with White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Monday, she expressed that White House officials need more information on the matter. “I’ve seen some of the footage. I don’t have the full context. I can’t imagine what context would make that appropriate, but I don’t have additional details, and certainly, I don’t have additional context”.
Chris Brown and many others on social media are calling for action to be done. The singer took to Instagram and wrote, “I hope everyone is seeing what is happening with the people of Haiti at the border!!!!!!”
He called for the wealthy to step in and added, “all the f***ing billionaires in that state alone should be trying to help.” He continued, “we have no peaceful strategies.. Hurding [sic] us up like cattle farmers…” He urges social media to take a look at what’s going on, “please take a f***ing look at what’s going on!!”
