Sean “Diddy” Combs was not playing when he said his new name is “Love.”

Puffy first made the announcement back in 2017. He made a video and said his name is “Love,” aka “Brother Love.”

Four years later, Diddy made his new moniker official. The mogul shared a picture online of his new driver’s license. In the name section, he has “Sean Love Combs.” In another photo, Diddy showed off the evolution of his various names. In the caption, Diddy said, “Look what I just got in the mail today… IT’S OFFICIAL!!! WELCOME TO THE LOVE ERA.” Take a look:

It’s not clear why Diddy changed his name. In 2020 when he filed legal documents, the “reason” listed on the papers says it’s because he wanted to change his middle name. His previous legal name was Sean Diddy Combs. Throughout the years, he’s gone by Puffy, Puff Daddy, or simply Diddy.
