It’s no secret that DMX was back to work, and ready to make 2021 his big comeback year before his untimely passing.

There had been rumors over the past few months that he was working on a brand new album with Swizz Beatz, and according to reports the album was completed and was getting ready to be released this summer.

Lisa Evers spoke with looktime friends Ruff Ryders founder Dee and former manager Craig Broadhead who spoke on his legacy, and news about the recording of his album.

According to Dee, the rapper recorded his album in Nashville, Tennessee, and it will certainly touch the people and rank with some of his best albums.

“This album is special,” he said. “You never heard no music like this one we did just now. This is probably one of his great albums.”

AllHipHop is also reporting that a documentary was also in the works with it airing on HBO Max. The rapper was also working on getting back on the big screen once again, most recently completing a role as Detective White in the 2020 thriller Chronicle of a Serial Killer.
