Top Ten Moments That You Missed Out On From BET’s Hip Hop Awards

This year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards was held in a different capacity due to Covid-19, but the show must go on. The show was hosted by the 85 South Boys and there were performances by The City Girls, Mulatto, Gucci Mane, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, and many more. This show also shared an important message, which is to get out to the polls and vote. With all that has happened during the Hip-Hop awards here are the best top ten moments.

  1. Rapsody wins Lyricist of the Year award making her first award ever from the BET franchise.
  2. Tobe Nwigwe gave an outstanding and powerful performance for his first time being on the Hip- Hop Awards.
  3. The Late Pop Smoke wins the Best New Artist award posthumously.
  4. The very first dancehall cypher took place featuring, Shenseea, Koffee, Skip Marley, Bounty Killer, and Beenie Man.
  5. Burna Boy performs with Chris Martin and dedicates his performance to the victims of SARS; an ongoing issue taking place in Nigeria.
  6. Quavo performs “Shake The Room’ and “Aim For The Moon”  in honor of Pop Smoke”.
  7. Snoop Dogg Presents Master P with the “I Am Hip-Hop” award. Master P becomes emotional while accepting his award.
  8. Brandy, H.E.R., Teyana Taylor, and Erykah Badu close out the cyphers as the “Ladies of R&B”
  9. Lil Baby wins the “Impact Track of the year” award.
  10. Senator and Vice President-Elect, Kamala Harris makes a special appearance.
