Kyrie Irving wants to honor Kobe Bryant in a major way.

The Brooklyn Nets player suggested that the NBA logo should be switched to a picture of the late basketball legend, Kobe. Kyrie shared an image on Instagram of what the new logo could look like. Check it out:

Kobe’s widow, Vanessa Bryant fully supports this idea. She re-shared the image Kyrie posted on her IG Story and said, “love this.” ESPN notes LaMelo Ball, Stephen Jackson and Dez Bryant also support the idea.

After Kobe’s tragic passing, the idea of changing the NBA logo to an image of Kobe was brought up. A petition was launched on change.org and it gained over 3.2 million signatures.

Creator of the NBA logo/CEO and president of the brand identity, Alan Sigel, believes it’s time for a change. Last year, he told Newsweek, “It’s quite clear that [Bryant] was a very respected figure by players and around the world and this is a really serious thing that should be considered by the league.”

The current logo is a silhouette of Lakers Hall of Famer, Jerry West. Jerry’s image has been used since 1969. In a 2015 interview with HuffPost, Jerry supported the idea of the logo being changed.
