The hip hop world lost a special, and unique person when Earl Simmons, best known to the world as DMX passed away at the age of 50 two weeks ago.

On Saturday April 24 at 4PM ET at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, they will host a private celebration of life memorial service to honor the rap legend. Unfortunately it won’t be open for fans, but people can live stream it on DMX’s YouTube.

X will have another home going celebrationon Sunday April 25 at 2:30 p.m. EST which will be broadcasted on BET.

This is also a private event, only family and close friends will be allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The “Slippin” rapper touched the Barclays stage in 2017 as part of a Ruff Ryders reunion show and in 2019 at the Masters of Ceremony concert. Swizz Beatz reportedly wants Kanye West to go to the funeral. DMX and Yeezy linked up in 2019 at Kanye’s Sunday Service. X delivered a powerful prayer. It’s not clear as of right now if Kanye will show up. Hopefully, he does.

Earlier in April, DMX was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack triggered by an overdose. He was in critical condition and fighting for his life for a week. Ruff Ryders held a vigil in the streets outside of White Plains hospital, where he was recovering.

Unfortunately, his brain was in a “vegetative state,” and he passed away on April 9. DMX was only 50 years old. He left behind 15 children and a fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom.
