An unarmed black man by the name of Jacob Blake from Kenosha, Wisconsin was shot seven times at point blank range by police.
The shooting took place on Sunday afternoon as police responded to what was described as a “domestic incident.” Blake was reportedly breaking up a verbal altercation between two women just after 5 PM. Police fired multiple round of shots into Blake’s back as he entered the driver’s side door of an SUV, officials said. The man’s three children — 3, 5 and 8 — were in the car, a family attorney said.
Blake is said to be in serious condition and fighting for his life. The video was posted on social media and went viral sparking protests and leading county officials to institute a curfew that remained in place until Monday morning.
