Marques Houston has been making headlines recently, as social media calls him out for being engaged to 19-year-old, Miya. Houston, 38, spoke out via Instagram. He says he was not dating Miya while she was underage, and that the two fell in love when she was an “adult” dispute the rumors of the two getting together when she was 14 or 15.

He writes, “With all that’s going on in the world, my love life shouldn’t be a topic. But since it is let me just give y’all the facts so you don’t have to “allegedly” believe or create rumors. After reading the Blog that was published about my fiancé and I, I felt with this situation I needed to speak because this is not music or television, this is my family, my future wife and my life. I met Miya in 2018 through a mutual friend. Never before then, did I even know she existed.”
It looks like Miya caught wind of the online accusations, and took to her own Instagram to speak out. Although Miya didn’t directly address the rumors, she mention that with all the “hate” in the world right now- people need to be spreading “love.”
She writes, “Hope Everyone is staying positive throughout all the pain going on everyday! In these times we need love more than hate. I pray that everyone is safe, happy and healthy. Thank you to those who have shown me and my family love throughout the last few days. Love you all, Miya!”
