Mike Tyson is certainly considered a boxing legend!
On a recent episode of Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, he had a conversation with Sugar Ray and things got emotional. Mike started off self-reflecting about life and God. Then Mike told the other boxing legend that he was inspired to become a boxer when he was about 13-years-old and locked up, but was watching a Sugar Ray fight. It was at that moment Mike knew he wanted to box and it’s possible it gave him hope while being caught up with the law.
The talk got emotional after Sugar Ray told Mike that he loves him. Mike began self-reflecting more and said that he recognizes himself as a student of the game, but also feels he was born to box. He went on to say that now that he’s not in the boxing spotlight anymore, he feels incomplete.
“Now those things are gone, it’s empty, I’m nothing.” As he tried to hold back tears he said, “That’s the reason why I’m crying, ’cause I’m not that person no more. And I miss him.”

The 53-year-old started his career in 1985 and earned the title as the undisputed world heavyweight champion. His 19-year boxing record includes 58 total fights, 50 wins, 44 wins by knockout, and six losses, and two in the no contests category.
When he was 20, he made boxing history by becoming and still is the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title. He was well known for his powerful punches and his infamous right hook, uppercut combo. He earned the nickname “Iron Mike,” and made $300 million throughout his career.
Mike was in the negative limelight in 1992, when he was convicted of rape. He was sentenced to six years in prison but later released on parole after serving three years. In 1997 he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear during a heavyweight title fight, which disqualified him.
Mike currently hosts his own Podcast, Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, and he has his own weed business in California called Tyson Ranch. He’s also appeared in movies like Hangover, Madea Family Funeral, and more. He also had his own show on Adult Swim, Mike Tyson’s Mysteries.

Even though Mike isn’t in the ring anymore, he can still be considered “the man” because he’s still making a way for himself. Plus, his legacy will always remain.
