Ella Mai Addresses Jacquees Situation, Rumored Sex Tape, & Success Of ‘Boo’d Up’ [VIDEO]

Ella Mai on Hot 97

Ella Mai sat down with Ebro in the Morning following the release of her debut album!

“I’ve never been happier in my life.”

Earlier this year, her single “Boo’d Up” blew up, being heard at every party and radio station across the country. At that point the track had been released for over in year, and she breaks down that journey during the conversation.

“None of it was expected,” she said.

The UK native also addresses the viral Jacquees situation, in which his version of her second single “Trip” was taken off YouTube and other streaming networks following a complaint by her team.

She revealed that she did not order the track be taken down herself, as she had no role in the situation. The problem came when he was trying to monetize off of the hit.

Ella Mai admits to meeting him before, and that rumors that she blocked him are false because she was never following him in the first place.

During the conversation she also addressed a rumored sex tape that had popped up on the internet, and her reaction to the obviously fake video.

Did you know she lived in Queens for a few years of her life? The singer also spoke about her reaction to being added to the Bruno Mars tour, the resurgence of r&b music in America, working with DJ Mustard and more.

Her self titled album is available now.
