Mo’Nique Sues Netflix Over Gender Pay And Race Discrimination

Mo’Nique is continuing her fight for equal pay. 

The actress and comedian have filed a lawsuit against Netflix, where she had cited race-based discrimination based off of her negotiations with the streaming company about her stand-up comedy special. 

Netflix had offered Mo’Nique $500,000 for the special but she turned it down saying that it was a small amount compared to other active female comedians. She also posted about the lawsuit on her Instagram account. See the post below.

In January of 2018, she called for a boycott of the company. It is unclear how much Mo’Nique is suing the company for.
