Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty has a legal situation on his hands.
Reported on TMZ, he was arrested and indicted for not registering as a sex offender. He was booked by U.S Marshals after appearing in court today (March 4) and turned himself in and later released.
The article reports that Mr. Petty’s legal troubles began in 2019 when he got pulled over in Beverly Hills in November for a traffic stop. This is when law enforcement realized that he was registered as a sex offender in New York but not in California. He was arrested and later released on a $20,000 bond.
Petty moved to the West Coast in July 2019 and it appears as if he still didn’t register within five days still which is why the Marshals were after him.
Petty’s legal history includes a 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape. He served nearly 4 years at a NY state prison and was required to register as a sex offender.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if he doesn’t register.
As of right now, Nicki hasn’t addressed it. Petty is due back in court on March 6.
