Michael Che has decided to give back to the tenants in his late grandmother’s building.

The Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update co-host has decided to pay one month’s rent for 160 residents in the NYCHA apartment that his grandmother lived in before she passed away from COVID-19 earlier this month.

Che posted the offer on his Instagram page saying, “it’s crazy to me that residents of public housing are still expected to pay their rent when so many New Yorkers can’t even work.”  See the post below.

He would also call on the city to have a better plan for NYCHA residents and asked Gov. Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio, and Diddy, to help him come up with a plan.
