Boosie Badazz is celebrating being cancer free.

Along with the good news, the rapper stated that as he was receiving his results today (May 2), he found out that his cancer surgeon had passed away last year.

"Stayed up all night praying for these results," Boosie began in a post shared on Instagram. "CANCER-FREE, GOD [IS] GREAT BUT HE TEST YOUR FAITH ALL THE TIME. I WAS READY TO SEE MY CANCER DOCTOR/SURGEON TODAY BUT I WAS TOLD HE PASSED LAST YEAR. THANK [YOU] DR.WOOD FOR ALWAYS MAKING ME LAUGH WHEN I WAS DOWN. [YOU] WERE THE BEST."

The Louisiana native continued, "I REMEMBER [YOU] RUBBIN MY HEAD WHEN I WAS [CRYING] BEFORE SURGERY. YOU [ASKED] ME WHY I WAS CRYING [AND] I TOLD [YOU THAT] I WAS THINKING ABOUT ALL THE WRONG I'VE DONE [IN] MY LIFE [AND] YOU SAID, 'MR. BOOSIE, GOD FORGIVES... DON'T WORRY, I'VE DONE MORE SURGERIES THAN YOU'VE DONE CONCERTS.' Dr. WOOD, I’m hurt."

Boosie was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015. After getting his annual check-up in March of 2021, he made a similar statement, announcing that he had been cancer-free. "I'M CANCER-FREE. [#Tearsofjoy]. Thanks to everybody [that] said a prayer for me. #GODISGREAT," he tweeted.
