The late Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward Boseman sits down for the first time since her husband’s passing.

In her first-ever TV interview, Ledward Boseman spoke to Whoopi Goldberg about her life after Boseman’s passing. She said that it is “the most challenging two years I’ve ever had in my life.”

Chadwick passed away back in 2020 at the age of 43, following his battle with cancer.

“Some days I’m doing worse than I’m really willing to acknowledge. And other days I’m doing better than I feel comfortable admitting. I can’t believe that I was so lucky. I can’t believe that I got to love this person. And I also got them to love me too.”

She also spoke about Chadwick’s role as T’Challa in the infamous Black Panther, revealing that he was very intentional on accepting projects that were authentic in representation of Blackness.

“We make a decision, we see how things play out, we question ourselves, we beat ourselves up about our choice- but then it all becomes clear. And if he were not that person, the person that would stand for what he believed in… he would not have been right for the role of T’Challa. He wouldn’t have been right to carry that mantle,” she said. “It really was the most powerful piece of work that Chad was able to lay the foundation for. He will always and forever be a part of that kingdom, you know? When people fall in love with that character, they’re falling in love with Chad.”
