Many remember Chris Darden as one of the main prosecutors in the 1996 O.J. Simpson double homicide case. As depicted in not only real life daily, but in recent specials, tv shows and documentaries, Darden was the lawyer who asked Simpson to put on the leather gloves he allegedly wore the night of the murder, which ultimately helped in the decision for a jury to find him not guilty.
Now Darden is representing Eric Holder. Holder is accused of shooting multiple times and killing Nipsey Hussle, while injuring two others. There has been much backlash following reports of the decision. While the infamous lawyer has not spoken, his daughter did after many people went onto her page to voice their opinions on the matter.
Jeneé Darden spoke out on Instagram on her opinions on the comments she has been receiving as well as her father’s decision.
“Like many of you I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling social media,” she wrote. “I was not prepared for this backlash that has triggered back memories from the O.J. Simpson trial. My father is a grown man and has been a defense attorney for some time. I have no say in the cases he takes on.”
