Cory Booker, Senator of New Jersey and presidential hopeful is making a promise that will benefit all women.
In a recent article with Buzzfeed, Booker promised that if he wins the 2020 election and wins that he would make abortion legal across the nation,which would be going against the Supreme Court’s decision.
Booker’s comments comes after the restrictive abortion law in Alabama was passed. The law also called for the overturning of the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade. Booker stated, “the injustices we’re seeing in Alabama right now with this legislation, it’s important that all of us understand that this is a threat to women’s freedoms and women’s rights all over our country, not just there.”
On Tuesday night, the state of Alabama passed a restrictive bill that bans almost all abortions with no exceptions, including rape or incest. Because of this bill being passed, Booker wants the legislation to make Roe v. Wade a national law.
