DaBaby had to get a few things off his chest.

He shared a few messages online about what he’s been dealing with. While the world has opinions about him, since breaking into the music industry in 2019 with his debut album Baby On Baby, he’s dealt with a lot of trauma.

One month after the album dropped, his father passed away. He dedicated his following project in 2019 to his late father and named his album after him, Kirk. In 2020, DaBaby’s brother, Glen Johnson, 34, committed suicide. Glen made an alarming video and said he was “wronged.” Glen said,

“I think five outta five of you motherf****ks think I’m b**********g. I really don’t give a f**k, I don’t.” Then he said, “I’m tired of living.”

DaBaby addressed Glen’s death on his song “Intro” off Kirk. DaBaby said, “My brother be thinkin’ that we don’t love him and let him struggle like we ain’t family. Like I won’t give up all I got to see you happy, n****.”

In DaBaby’s post, he also said he’s been dealing with other things he can’t even speak on. He also said while going through all of these issues; he gained a lot of success in a short amount of time. He also pointed out some artists don’t see the success he’s seen, even being in the game for ten years.
