Dave East dropped a new project, Survival, and has been promoting the project in various places.

During an interview in LA, the Harlem rapper explained why Kodak Black had been removed from his album. Around the time Nipsey passed, Kodak made inappropriate comments about his long-time girlfriend, Lauren London.

Kodak said he would give her time to grieve but would then try to shoot his shot.

Dave East, who was close to Nipsey, explained how it didn’t feel right having Kodak Black on the song, “The Marathon Continues.” During the interview Dave said,

“Just sitting back listening to it, it was dope,” East admitted. “But I just couldn’t have a song called ‘The Marathon Continues’ where I’m talking to my brother and he’s on it and then a few songs before that you know…. that’s just me man. I’m a loyal dude. I’m real. I don’t hold my tongue. I ain’t got no filter. That’s just me. The Internet is going to spin it how they want to spin it but like I said, I don’t have a problem with homie. Free Kodak Black.”

So there’s NO BEEF or anything like that. Dave East just made a move out of respect for his late friend.
