DMX has officially been sentenced in the case over failing to pay taxes.
According to NY1, His lawyer played the “Slippin’” music video inside of the court room and his lawyer spoke about his tough upbringing and his struggle with drugs while the rapper sat in tears.
The judge who reportedly called him a “good man,” then sentenced him to one year in federal prison, three years in supervision, and he must pay $2.2 million due to tax evasion. He will be out in 10 months due to time served already before the sentencing.
He was originally arrested for alleged dodging $1.7 million in taxes and was facing five years in prison.
