In March, Drake surprised fans with photos of his son Adonis breaking the Internet two years after his birth. The 33 year-old rapper wrote a heartfelt caption along with the slide show of pictures expressed how much he missed his family during this difficult time.

In a recent interview with his mentor Lil Wayne on his show titled Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne, Drake opened up about how he felt posting those photos, and revealing an important aspect of his life to the world.

“I posted those pictures, it was great for me. It was great to just share that with the world.”

“I wasn’t even anything I talked to anybody about or anything I planned. I just woke up one morning, and I was like, you know what? This is just something that I want to do.”

Drake went on to say that he wanted to free himself of feeling obligated to live “under a blanket.”

“I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son.

“I don’t want to feel like, just, because of a life choice I made to be a celebrity, that I got to make everybody live under this blanket. I just wanted to free myself of that”
