For years people called it a myth that apple would deliberately slow down older models of the phone when a new one was being released. It wasn’t until 2017 that Apple was forced to admit that its not a “myth,” and that it’s true.Their reason for slowing down older models is so that “users can have an advanced performance management system,” basically to ensure that the newer models would work better, according to a report. With the lawsuit, Apple now has to warn users that they will be slowing down older models. Under the suit, Apple has to pay users up to a maxim of $500 million and a minimum of $310 million. Qualifying customers will be paid out up to $25 per device. The settlement covers the iPhone model 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and SE devices that installed the software updates before December 21, 2017. If you're a qualifying customer, you won’t get paid until it’s approved by a federal judge. Have you ever experienced an iPhone “slowing down” when a new device was being released and will you apply for your settlement cut? SOURCE
