Is “Fifty Shades Freed” A Valentine’s Day A Date Night Do Or Don’t? [VIDEO] #SceneItReviews

Anastasia Steele from 'Fifty Shades Freed'

Our favorite freaky-zeeky couple, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey are back to steam up the silver screen for Valentine’s Day.

Fifty Shades Freed is for the grown and sexy and I mean that, literally.

The third installment of the franchise is still as sexy as the previous two and does have its action-packed moments. But the real takeaway from the film how going from a relationship to married life is like day and night.

The movie opens with her and her billionaire fiancé getting married and blissfully enjoying their time together.

It’s funny to see the perfect Christian become more possessive and protective of his new wife, as he was uncomfortable with her sunbathing topless on a nude beach. (cute

Fifty Shades Freed - Wedding between Anastasia Steele and Christian Gey

There were moments of insecurity from Christian, something we’ve never seen before in previous movies. The marriage dynamic takes its form as he gets upset when she doesn’t listen to him for certain things. Like coming home after work when asked,  or being slightly jealous when he finds her having a conversation with a good-looking author in her office.

Anastasia Grey, a name she isn’t used to being called, goes from a quiet, submissive woman to a fearless badass. Although we see growth in her confidence, we also see her reluctance when having to change her identity altogether.

When Anastasia’s employer informed her that her email address had been changed from  “Steele” to “Grey,” it made her uneasy. The name switch is something many women are uncomfortable with when they get married. In a sense, it’s almost like giving up your identity, your journey, the good and the bad, the memories, a name that’s been yours forever to take on someone else’s. It’s not as simple as just taking on your partner’s last name on a document, for some reason, it’s so much more than that.

The conversation of having children also comes up in the film, and it causes a rift between Christian and Anastasia. One is ready for kids while the other isn’t, and it mirrors what couples deal with in real life.

No relationship topics are left unturned in this movie but, if you’re looking for the usual dominatrix scenes, the sex like you did in the other two, you will still get it in this movie. But, understand, be prepared to watch real-life issues on the screen. So if you’re considering this film for Valentine’s Day date night, realize that it may stir up some things you may already be dealing with at home.

Now, if it’s the first date or if you’re just dating, then the movie might make things awkward between the two of you because it centers on relationships and marriage. It might be a bit much for a first date, don’t you think? Unless you and your date are fully capable of ignoring the serious topics and just enjoy watching the sexy time that goes on.

If you’re going with your girlfriends, then, by all means, go, you’ll have tons to discuss!

My last tidbit is if you haven’t seen Fifty Shades of Grey, or Fifty Shades Darker, then you shouldn’t watch this. There are things that Christian does, storylines from the previous movies intertwined into this one. It may leave you scratching your head if you’re not Fifty Shades savvy.

Either way, what we learn is, a man who is an alpha-male and been through as much as Christian has, can settle down if he finds the right woman. You can still have a fun married life and not be sex deprived at the same time. In the end, family and love are all you need in the long run.
