Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, has been sentenced to prison for tax evasion. Sorrentino, who is best known for starring on MTV’s Jersey Shore, appeared in New Jersey federal court on Friday. He was given an eight month prison sentence, along with two years of supervised release.

The situation stems from a 2014 indictment for falsifying business and personal tax returns between 2010 and 2012. In January, Sorrentino pleaded guilty to tax evasion and concealing income. The U.S. Attorney in New Jersey charged the brothers for filing false tax returns.

Although the hit show Jersey Shore definitely had its fair share of on-air drama, the cast always came together and showed a family-like bond and their support for one another, especially in times of need. Most recently, Jersey Shore reunion series Family Vacation returned to MTV in August with a two-hour special. A recent clip shows the cast showing support for Sorrentino during this difficult time.
