JT is expanding into the fashion world.
On Tuesday (July 18), the City Girls rapper announced that the first collection of her new clothing line, TheGirlJTWorld, will be released this Friday (July 21). “TheGirlJTWorld is something I’ve been working a long time for and something [that] I put my heart into as an expression of self and giving back to my followers,” JT revealed in an Instagram post. “[I] felt so much love and support from you guys that I wanted to create something where we could all be together and engage in conversation that combines everything that’s important to me — fashion, music, and more.”
The “Act Up” hitmaker continued, “Thank y’all so much for waiting, supporting, and seeing me for me, and [I] hope that y’all will love TheGirlJTWorld just as much as I do. I’m excited to explore fashion more as a lane for myself, and can’t wait for you guys to see what I’ve been up to.”
JT has been doing big things. Last Friday (July 14), she released “No Bars,” her first solo record in four years. This track is a follow-up to 2019’s “JT First Day Out,” which celebrated her release from a Florida prison to a halfway house. The 30-year-old also launched No Bars Reform, a new mission to help formerly incarcerated women navigate through society after prison. “After spending almost two years in a Florida prison before being released in 2020, JT has vowed to use her voice and platform to help other incarcerated women rehabilitate into society by assisting with resources such as therapy, job placement, social services, and housing,” a statement on the official website reads.
