A Louisiana judge issued a gag order in Mystikal’s rape case.

Under the order, lawyers, potential witnesses, and law enforcement are prohibited from speaking to the media about the trial. Last week, Mystikal’s lawyer, Tiffany Myles Crosby filed the request due to an “inordinate amount of publicity.”

The “Danger” rapper is facing life in prison following his first-degree rape and domestic abuse indictment. In addition to the sexual assault, he’s accused of choking the victim and threatening her with scissors.

The Jasmine Brand reports that authorities say the disagreement was over money. The alleged attack happened last year on July 30, last year, at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana.

Mystikal is also charged with a single count of domestic abuse, battery by strangulation, simple robbery, possession of heroin, illegal possession of Xanax, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to two indictments against him, NOLA reports.

The 52-year-old rapper registered as a lifetime sex offender after his 2003 conviction for sexual battery and extortion. He served six years.

In 2017, he spent 18 months in jail for a sexual assault case, but a grand jury dismissed the charges due to lack of evidence.

He remains behind bars at Ascension Parish Prison without bail. The trial will start in the summer.
